A small group of people live together in a very comfortable home, each having an en-suite bedroomand spacious living areas. We see our responsibility as developing skills, promoting independence and
offering structure in order to help people make sense of their lives. We communicate with people in
a way they can understand which might be visual and with pictures, signs or speech.
Although people can enjoy the company of their house mates in their family setting, each person
has their own individually assessed care package which ensures they can be supported in the best
way possible to meet their individual needs. It is important for a person to enjoy life just as they
would in their own family home and to be treated as an adult.
We ensure the best possible support for the people we care for and have no implied rules or acceptedviews which may restrict a person's dignity, privacy or independence. Support staff seek a person's views
and wishes as far as possible and do not perceive self determination as difficult behaviour but as a means
to communicate and an attribute to their personality. Our support staff are important to us and we
provide extensive training, coaching and regular supervision covering all aspects of their role to ensure
they are fully confident to offer the best possible support and care for the people living with us.
